The past four months.

Updated: Jun 6, 2021

Now that we are finally opening our doors again we would share what our life has been like in the past four months.

Tourism has been non-existent since March but we were blessed to be in lockdown with some amazing and inspiring people. One of them is Emma, who joined us just before this virus outbreak and has taken our Forest Healing Foundation to new heights. Her energy has galvanised the team when some of us were feeling absolutely hopeless. The terrorist bombings of last year followed by a virus outbreak makes some of us believe that we are cursed!

Despsite all this, we have continued to plant trees, create new partnerships and spread the importance of convservation. We are hopeful that the past four months has given humanity a chance to reflect and do better to protect our environment. If not, we fear that this virus is only the start.

Our other inspiration is Tharaka, our spiritual guru who spent his time meditating and teaching us about true Buddhism. He is a yoga and meditation teacher from Anuradhapura who is full of wisdom and kindness. Not only did he stop Nihal from drinking beer, he also turned Remon into a vegetarian (partly!).

So, as the past four months have been a chance to focus on the environmental and spiritual health of our team and surroundings, we must continue to “build back better” as the world opens up again.

The rest of time of the time was spent looking after our many pets including 10 dogs, playing board games and growing our own vegetables.

Whether it be planting a tree, doing an early morning Hatha Flow or playing with our dogs, we look forward to sharing our home with you soon.
